How You Should Maintain Optimal Oral Hygiene

There are several things you should do in order to maintain an optimal level of oral hygiene. You should:

  • Brush your teeth at least twice a day (but preferably after every meal)

  • Floss daily

  • Visit your dentist for regular checkups

  • Use any additional recommended products by your dentist (such as mouthwash)

  • Eat a healthy and balanced diet

Signs of Good Oral Hygiene

If you have good oral hygiene, you should fulfill the following criteria:

  • Your teeth are clean and aren’t filled with debris.

  • Your gums are pink and don’t bleed when brushed or flossed.

  • Your teeth and gums aren’t bothering you when you eat.

  • Your mouth looks healthy.

  • You don’t have bad breath.
